Hey Wilson,

I'm an old man (43) but have been driving fast street cars for 25 years. I am new to offroading though so I gotta start somewhere. I see for some conditions one quick button push is recommended but push and hold for muddy conditions. I really dont think we will see any high speed driving so I will have to make some decisions about settings when I get there.

All advice is appreciated :Caffeine:

dont try to do donuts. because of crap that is on the truck, it cuts power about 2/3 the way through. (at least in mud)

I read about people having power steering issues from time to time mostly when offroading. Is it still happening on the 2013 models

lol you'll be fine I'm sure you've had it side ways. With the terrain being mostly flat you should have no problems. I would say the worst thing you could to is take a wash out at speed so watch that I'm talking 3x3 not tire ruts.

I drifted it on pavement just yesterday. have not tried a donut on pavement yet. on gravel yes you can if hold the button until disabled. I would appreciate feed back have fun.

2 things I am planning not to do:

Break
Get Stuck
2 of the other guys are hardcore offroaders so it's gonna be interesting.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS! Especially by newbie off roaders

Be sure to RTFM (twice at least) so you KNOW how to set your Raptor up for off roaring depending on what you're trying to do (2WD or 4Hi or even 4Low, etc.).

There are a lot of threads on FRF you should have read by now so you can learn from others (the cheapest lessons are the ones you learn for free based on mistakes made by others). Here are some:

Good luck and have fun! (Be safe!)

That looks like a blast man but eventually I would like to do the RPG stage 2 kit to keep my frame straight!

I have read all the posts and watched the video multiple times to get the setting straight.

I can't wait to go now!!
