If you have any type of decent insurance, you should be able to file the claim online. An agent will then contact you for more information. At that point, your insurance agent should be calling the other person's insurance and handling it from there. You pay them to work for you. Don't let them have you do their work. Honestly, you should not be saying one word to the other person's insurance. And again, the bank you finance the truck through should not be involved at all unless they are needed for a payoff in the event your truck is totaled. Your truck is not totaled.

I have spent 25 years in the collision industry and ran large chains of auto body shops in California.
First, doubtful that the frame is bent.. I have seen lots of these with this type of damage and the rear rails are pretty tough.. Next, IN CA, a bent frame does NOT mean a Salvage title.. not even close. Stay far away from Geico, Progressive, Allstate.. IMO, State farm is likely the best.. As they will not put A/M (aftermarket) body parts on your Truck. Even USAA which is very good, after 12 miles, its whatever they want to put on.... Next, shops, if you are in the east bay, I would recommend B&S Hacienda. If you are in the South Bay, I'd actually go to Santa Cruz for Krafts auto body. North bay G&C, but PM me, they are clients and I can help. SF Aliotos-- same they are clients. any other area, let me know I can point you in the right direction.

There are essentially two ways to total a newer Raptor.. that is front corner damage that folds the frame behind the kick up.. in that case it needs a frame (still not a total in CA) but many shops don't want to do it... I wouldn't on mine. Next is side rocker/ center pillar damage that gets into the floor. Shops will try to fix this, but the way the cab is constructed, its a mess.. of aluminum.. Another recommendation... any damage to body panels (aluminum) may sure you get a Ford certified shop- and this is almost never a ford dealer bodyshop- dealer body shops are most often light years behind the times..

My rear bumper got hit 2 months ago. They just checked to see if it bent the tow/hitch assembly which it didn’t so a new bumper was $2400 here in MN. Probably more where ur at. But never spoke to anyone except the body shop. They dealt with the other drivers insurance. By the looks of ur hit there’s no way frame was damaged.

I would just buy a new/used half bumper and do it myself, keep insurance and carfax out of it. It is a very simple job.

Yes you’re right. Just the replacement of the bumper which is $2700. It’s cheaper than I thought bc this is a 80k truck

Hi guys! My Gen3 (I just bought it in May) was rear ended by a Honda on highway. Both of us are okay after accident but I saw the rear bumper needs replacement due to cracks. Also I’m not sure if the structure/chassis is damaged due to collision. So I need the following helps:
1) any reputable body shop in SF bay area recommended?
2) can dealers do the repair?
3) any estimate on the lost of value? (I only put 5000mls on the truck)

Thanks!
I took my GT350 to Precision Body Shop and Detail in Colma CA. Worth the drive from San Jose.

I worked with Anthony Caprini there and those gents did great work for me for some warranty paint issues. Then i had them do some aftermarket mods. Reinforced the spoiler and added the factory tow hook.

I wouldn’t take my vehicles anywhere else and i live over an hour away.
