This is simply not true. Gen 1s are listed for 35-40k$ right now with 100-150k miles, and msrp on a 2014 was 49,000$...
https://cosprings.craigslist.org/ctd/d/denver-2013-ford-f150-supercrew-cab/7503667842.html 36k for a black 2013 screw with 130K odd miles.

We're talking about a Ford pickup truck here. The high output Ecoboost is probably more reliable than the regular 3.5 TT due to the conservative tune from the factory.
Listed and what they actually sell for are two different things. Also I am not sure where Ecoboost reliability came into question, but yea I have no issues with the Ecoboost line of engines, Specifically the 3.5 as now I own two, SHO and Raptor.

Someone compared a raptor to a Porsche. Implying that a raptor will be as unreliable as a German vehicle outside of the warranty period. We all know the saying.. lease German, don’t buy.

Reliability is the only reason anyone cares about a warranty anyways so it’s literally what the comment I replied to was talking about.

There’s literally no way to know what these trucks are selling for unless you own a used car lot. People are paying adm for economy cars, and 20k+ for a new raptor. If you think used cars aren’t still going for an enormous premium then I’ve got news for you.

Funny you should say that, by business partner owns a car lot. He knows what they sale for and what hit mileage takes.

On a normal 1/2 ton pick up miles are about $0.04 a mile. So a F150 with 100,000 miles, when average for age is 25,000 will take a hit of about $3000.

A Raptor on the other hand takes a hit of about $0.13 a mile,(on par with high end vehicles, like Porsche, 'vette, gt500) so the same mileage difference would be a hit of $9750

After shopping for about 5 months I can attest to those numbers being damn near spot on.

Again I know zero, until last week I had not purchased a vehicle for 7 years (wife's SHO) and for myself 21 years.

But my business partner (car lot owner) went over all this with me while I was searching for my Raptor.

It is because there is really nothing like it and it is desirable.

Chevy, ram, Ford, Toyota, nissian all make 1/2 ton pickups. But even with the TRX no one really makes anything like the Raptor

Selling my 20 802a Gen 2 today for $68k with 26k miles. Probably could squeak out a couple more grand privately, but selling it to a GM that has taken good care of me. Bought it brand new for $62.5k two weeks into the pandemic. Can’t complain.

“The Porsche 911 is the highest-ranked model for trouble-free ownership in the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), released today. The Macan ranked as most dependable among Premium Compact SUVs, and overall the Porsche brand across model lines improved to second-place in the annual study.”

Also, I believe 70% of Porsches ever built are still on the road today.

The Raptor might as well be the 911 of the pickup truck world. It is the benchmark, it is what other trucks strive to be. It is in a class of its own. It does everything well, and it is a special car.

If you could have just left that statement out, I would have agreed with you.

The Raptor does not do "everything" well. In fact as far as "trucks" go it doesn't do anything "well". It only really accels at one thing and that is off roading

It doesn't, handle, brake, haul or tow as well as a standard F150.

But alas a Porsche is horrible at hauling sheets of plywood.

My new truck should be here by month's end. Does anyone have access to manheim pricing? 2018 White, 802a, with tailgate step, moonroof and stickers, no dents or scratches. Currently 102k miles, probably close to 103-104 when I get rid of it.

I know about the tax advantage of trading, but want to have as much info as I can.

Thanks in advance.
Some states don’t have the tax advantage. Cali sucks

I have a 2019 Porsche Targa. Not one issue and 8000 miles. My Gen 2 43000 miles zero and it is a 2020.

I traded my 2020 802 with msrp of 75 for 68700 43000 miles one owner.
