You should consider the Vico Vation TF2+ Premium, which features a 160 degree wide angle lens. It is one of the best performing dash cameras on the market that boasts some nice added features. It is big and bulky also pricey but if you are in the market for one that I the one I would get

Better yet if you can wait a little bit, I just checked the VicoVation website and they are releasing a new model the WF1 that has wifi so you can connect it with your smartphone like a gopro

Ironman, regarding the internal camera requirement, wondering if you could somehow mount it so that it pivots 180 degrees. So if your primary requirement is security, you leave it facing inside to cover the cab. When you want to get some great off-road videos, you pivot it around. The only draw back would be that the video of your wonderful wife's face wouldn't be synced with the video of you jumping the hill....
