I was at the auto show today and seen the SE bedside graphics for the first time on a Raptor and have to say they look really good.
I have a set of the SE graphics but don't think I should put them on my truck since its a 2012?

More reason to put them on your truck. I know my trucks a special edition. ;)

At first I didn't care for the decals...so I bought my Raptor without them. Although I think you'd get more looks with them. My Raptor rarely gets noticed by people. Even kids, who typically acknowledge cool stuff, just walk by without a glance. About once a month, I'll run into someone that will say "nice truck"...but that's usually from another Raptor owner. Although my Jeep, even with its many off-roading dings and trail blazing scratches, it gets compliments practically every time I take it out.

With that said, I'm seriously considering adding bed and hood graphics, along with a set of dual Saleen stripes on the front fender.

I had to find the pic again that jcl48 posted of his Raptor...this pic is what changed my mind about the graphics. I think the front fender stripes really help balance out the bed graphics. :favorites13:

Now where can I get graphics like that for the fender and hood?

Will have to make the fender stripes, although it's not too terribly difficult. There's plenty of youtube videos out there using the knifeless tape. Saw one guy wrap a hood in about 5 minutes using it.

A couple of those and some knifeless tape for cutting the vinyl.

They're similar to the Saleen stripes, but those stripes are typically referred to as "Grand Sport Hash Marks" and were traditionally installed only on the drivers side fender of Grand Sport Corvettes. I like your Saleen idea though and think maybe instead of doing both stripes the same width, that maybe one wider than the other like the Saleen stripes may look better... it would match the rear graphics better too.

I guess I'm still old school, I remember the 89 SSC Saleens from high school with the dual stripe on the fenders \\ \\

The grand sport didn't arrive until 96 and I called them Saleen Stripes then too...hell, gm couldn't figure out how to mirror the passenger's side stripe, so they just decided to put a hideous big fat skunk mark down the middle so no one would notice the asymmetric design flaw lol.

A brief history of hash marks...copied from another forum...

The Grand Sport stripe is actually called a HASH MARK and it was USED ONE TIME AND ONLY ONE TIME on a racing original Grand Sport. That one time started a legend and history.

The hash mark was NOT on the fender- didn't show up on the fender until the NON RACING 1996 tribute edition.

In 1963 John Mecom took 3 Grand Sports to the Bahamas for Speed Week (rich boys in the early 60's went there to race on street courses, google Bahama Speed Week and the Nassau Tourist Trophy-also understand that GM NEVER raced the Grand Sports, private parties only).

All three Mecom Grand Sports were painted the same color of blue. A single HASH MARK (red, white and black I believe-sorry too tired to go look it up) was placed on the nose of each car--THE NOSE--this allowed the car to be identified as it came down pit lane. This is 1963, no cell phones, no laptop computers, no in-car radios...just a sign board telling a car to come into the pit...can't see the "side' of a car coming at you down pit lane thus the hash mark to id the car.

The HASH Marks were done with TAPE NOT PAINT. The 3 Grand Sports never raced like that again...just that single week frozen in time....thus no more hash marks.....until 1996 and later during the C5R and C6R programs. Also understand the history or racing and 'safety--in 1963 pit lanes were not 40 mph safe zones of today...they were just part of the main straight...you worked on the car while racers blew past 20 ft away at 120mph. You didn't step into pit lane (the damn racetrack) unless you had to and for your car-thus car id was critical.

Hash Marks were again used in the C5R and C6R programs...NOT just fenders but mirrors...look at pictures of the #53 BLUE LeMans C5R from 2003. You will see 3 yellow stripes on the passenger mirror (pit wall side)...again a marker to identify the car to a pit crew. Even today the C6R has a "hash mark" in every race....look at the windshield CORVETTE banner--one car has a black background and the other red..WHY? Instant Identification when viewing the car head on...

Where did you get them and how much were they? I'd like to get some for my '14 if I get it
