I've got a SCT3000 tuner that I had from a previous truck. Didn't put the stock tune back on the truck when I sold it so the tuner would need to be unlocked. Believe the price is $150 to get it unlocked at SCT. Would sell the tuner for $125 shipped, which would save a buyer some money on a new one.

And then you need to buy tunes, and now you're paying more for a used one with less tunes than a brand new one with more tunes. YAY!!:hitit:

@Dane Actually, $125 for used tuner plus $150 for unlocking plus one emailed tune from 5star $105, which is only $380.00. If I sold it shipped for $100, then the buyer would only spend $355.00 and would be set up.

List price for SVC's SCT Tuner and SVC Tune is $550 on their website.
5Star looks like it list for $399.00 for just the tuner and get a few tunes and tuner for $419.

So, yes its more hassle but some individuals don't mind taking a few steps to save a few bucks.

I know someone else who might be interested in a deal on a tuner...

*hint* It's me.

Dane,

Give me a call or an email. We'd be happy to get you setup with a deal on a tuner =)

Mike - looking for some feedback/advice on a CAI for a 2014. Got the 4X and tunes installed yesterday and NEED MORE COOLNESS!!!

Hope the weekend served you well! My recommendation for CAI would be Banks and then AFE. Let us know which way you decide to go with intake and exhaust.

DesertEagle,

You're correct! SCT charges 150 for a device unlock. Fingers crossed they will soon give their dealers the ability to unlock devices.

Pumped!

OK. So I know everyone has their take on this whole tuner thing, but I've installed the 4X with the 87 octane tune. Went that way to save a little bit on gas versus the 91 tune. Have a CAI and that's it. Installed the performance tune and WOW!!! Although I've seen some posts about weird shift points and erratic gear changes, I've had non of it. That tune really woke up the motor and the transmission is matched perfectly. Mike at 5 Star - is a star. The guys over at SVT are great, too, as they helped me through the whole tuner update affair. SVT and 5 Star tunes are awesome!!!!!! Mike - I'll be calling tomorrow to order that updated CAI and the SW Exhaust!

Munther,

Great to hear! We're glad that we could make your truck run with all the potential that Ford gave it! Makes em much more fun to drive!

RubyRed,

Happy to help! We appreciate your review! We've spent 1000's of development hours on each tune to really hone in the transmission/engine pairing. It all pays off when you give us your feedback! You'll really enjoying the pairing of your tunes to the SW exhaust.
