I think it's a tough decision for a lot of us. I ordered a SCAB because I'll rarely have more than 2 people in the truck and if 5 want to ride along, then they know where they have to sit. It's not that bad back there compared to some other vehicles. I liked the look of the SCAB more but that comes down to personal preference. The SCAB looks sharper/more balanced imo and the SCREW has more of the beast look. I also considered the off-road ability, size and slightly more ground clearance of the SCAB. I do wish they found a way to get more than 26 gallons in it but otherwise, I prefer the SCAB plus it's about $2600 less (invoice price). Resale (if there really is more than a 3K difference) was not a factor because I suspect this will be a vehicle that I drive until I can't drive anymore!!

Ah WyoStorm! I was waiting to hear from you as i rememberd you have a SCAB on order. Good to hear from the guys older than myself in favour of the SCAB! Im guessing two people with gear could fit descently in the back seat...... Never was really able to fit more than two people in my current truck at a time anyways. So if i can comfortably ride 4 guys including myself in a SCAB, that will be my choice for sure!! The more input, the better. From personal experience and especially those that have been in that back seat for an hour at a time. . . . .

I have a screw and love it, but if given the choice again i would go with the scab. Just a little more sporty and i dont have Kids/wont have kids for a LONG time. Yeah my buddys love the big back seat, but hell that just means i have to drive when we go out. Make it a little uncomfortable back for them and save some miles lol

I am sure it was said but the one nice thing not mentioned in the OP is the bigger fuel tank in the screw. Can never carry enough fuel :D

I suppose with either truck in off-road excursions you should have some reserve gas strapped down in the back anyways!!! And when you REALLY get with it out there, most guys probably dont want 5 people in the truck anyways.

I have a SCab and love the looks of it, The SCrew looks 'less off-roady' to me because of the longer wheelbase (read: high-center-abilty)

Extended cabs have come along way, a 97-03 F150 SCab I couldn't have (I got 2 toddlers)

I couldn't do a SCab Super Duty either, way to small!

But the current generation of F150s have an ample back seat for my kiddos.

Now the "Exteneded Cab Dance" I have to do in tight parking spots to get the kids out is a minor pain.

But all in all, I like my SCab.

SCREW MINUSES (---)

  • Larger turning radius
  • More expensive
  • Frame *more* prone to suffer structural compromise during spirited airborne maneuvers (?)

Perhaps the most important minus of the SCREW is...

fat-lady-scale.jpg

It robs the performance and makes the SCREW slower than the SCAB.

Other key issues is the longer wheelbase length really handicaps the SCREW off road with less maneuverability and breakover angle is worse.

LOL, thats a gross picture!! Whatever gets the point across right..... Sooo i changed my order to a SCAB this morning everyone!! The real downer is that just before i originally gave the dealer the green light, some guy ordered 8 Raptors before me for his "buisiness". I sure hope i dont have to wait six F%@* months now!!!

I think I'm in the same boat as integrity. While the supercrew would be nice on occasion...I'd rather have the smaller/lighter truck that just looks better to me.

Silly perhaps...but that's the direction I'm leaning.
