if you can feel it with your fingernail then get the touch up pen from ford. clean it well, apply the paint carefully, let it dry and polish it smooth.

Bird, given that it will most likely happen again, can you tell me once more which "tools" you would buy to do maintenance on the minor scratches before going the shop route for the deep ones?

Polishing compound and a rotary will get rid of pretty much any surface scratches.

Meguiars fine cut diamond followed by meguiars yellow 26...
might not do quite as well because it's not a gloss clearcoat...i dunno?
