SCAB values

So I've read the SCAB is discontinued in 2021, if this is the case do you think the 17-20 SCABS will hold their value better?

I currently have a 17 CPO SCAB with 42k miles which i might be selling soon in order to buy a house. Just seeing what your thoughts would be on its value. My SCAB has every option minus CF, lane keeping assist, park assist and no moon roof.

I have a scab also, but I don't think it will "hold" its value. If you are planning on having to sell it, you should sell now, not later, these are not collector vehicles and will go down in value every year. Now if you had the last scab made in '20, that one might hold or continue to climb in value.

My bet is a few years from now scabs will have lost less of their value than screws. Certainly more scarce, faster, handles better, easier to park, big enough cab for those who aren't hauling people or kids around. I absolutely love mine so maybe I'm biased.

That's possible....a few months ago when I was searching Autotrader for a 2020 SCAB they were outnumbered by SCREWS about 10 to 1.

Pretty sure that’s the overall take rate. I had a hell of a time finding my 2017 last year.

All we really know is that there will be no SCAB in 2021. Ford kinda left the door open for a SCREW in 2021, but that's looking more and more unlikely. That may have been left as a placeholder so that Ford would have some flexibility, depending on things like covid and TRX. Once Ford gets back to real Raptor production in MY 2022 or 2023, the SCAB may well be back. I think it's way too early to start counting chickens.

Fun fact, I was chatting with a buddy of mine about a month ago, he's got a 17scab and I've got an 18 screw, and he was telling me how low his value was. I went on kbb and did a generic estimate for both our trucks and plugged in 45k miles for each truck. His 17 came back at 30k-ish in good condition and mine at 52ish in the same condition. I say that to say this, today his value came up to 42ish and mine didn't change, still low 50s. Take that for what it's worth.
