I curious of any thoughts on Line-x underbody rustproofing. I’ve got 20k miles on my 2020, it’s been thru 1 winter with no protection but am scheduled to have applied this week. Any one have thoughts, pros-cons? Is it worth it? ($899)Thnx

Don’t f’n do it!!! Get yourself some spray cans of fluid film or wool wax and do it yourself. The stuff I mentioned doesn’t harden and doesn’t trap water or salt, undercoating is a scam and don’t do it. There are a lot of posts on here about how to properly protect your raptor in the winter. You will get a few reply’s like this.

If you do decide to do it I would drop your spare tire down so they can spray that area as well. Their underbody protection is different from the old school undercoating. I also had them do the rear fender wells as well and think it turned out great with no issues.

Thnx I’m sure ur right, I just have no time for DIY project and am willing to pay for the service. Was mainly wondering if the general consensus was: is it worth having it done or not? Is it truly protective in minimizing/preventing rust?

Amsoil HDMP spray is my opinion on fluid; there was a thread where someone on here compared most of them.

The guy I use for ceramic uses a product from the Canadian company, Corrosion Free, he trialed a lot of different types including some of the wet military stuff and he decided on only using this stuff going forward. I believe it’s Rust Cure 3000. The benefit is he has a bunch of different wands and gets into every crevice. I kinda wish I had done it that way from the start.

The short answer is yes, it’s worth it, if you use the right product.

Do it your self, I got 6 cans of Amisoil HDMP and just sprayed everything under the truck. Smelled like crayons for a few weeks but is still there 70k later. Make sure you mask off the shocks or the get the yellow tint to them.

It will literally take longer to drive somewhere and have someone else install it than lay on your back and spray everything. Your over thinking it it’s like clear spray wax. Took me 30 min.

I had CF done on my car a couple times. The selling point was that the installer didn’t have to drill access holes. They used different spray wands to access all internal areas. The product would creep very well but not drip all over your driveway like others.

I stopped using it since I couldn’t find any good places to apply except for Canadian Tire. I won’t even let them squeegee my windshield lol
