I have searched and haven't found anything. Has anyone taken off the stock running boards and installed a set of rampage Stirrup steps on there raptor. Is it even possible to take the stock ones off.

um yes it is possible and very easy...................
i cant say anything about your choice there. not really my thing. but to take em off crawl under and youll see the mounting brackets. get a wrench and a socket and get em off and they just come off easy. 2 brackets per side.

good luck

well that pic does suck, They look really good on my red fx4, and they are very functional, I just don't have pic on my computer of my truck with them on. Any body want to photo shop some of those on a raptor.

The problem is I think the stock ones may be two high for the in-laws. These made bars make it possible for them to get in and out of my fx4.

Open to opinions and thoughts.

My 5 and 7 year old kids have zero problems getting in and out of the Raptor.

as netix has stated they are easy to remove. but personally am not a fan of those running boards. i personally like the stock ones. they are designed for the truck. again only my opinion. jack

How often do the in laws need to get in and out? I solved that issue with your basic two-step step ladder. It even has a handle on it giving them extra confidence to climb in and out.

Food for thought.

Costs a little more, but check out the Amp Research Powersteps.

Gives your truck the clean look of steps removed, but when doors open and the amps drop down it's a great step- easy for both the elderly and girls in tall heels :)

You do realize that the Raptor sits higher than the FX4. So those steps may not even work for you after all. Maybe a small wooden box "step" would work to get a little height to use the factory step. Just pick it up and put it in the back seat area or the bed. Problem solved.

I park between a couple guys I know at work, between a lifted Chevy with fender flares and a Denali. I frequently have to inch my way out onto the factory running boards to get out of the truck. And to load the kids in their car seats, I always stand on running board too.

I find them useful and I like the vented look. Be sure these will indeed work better for you. (are they really lower?)

I just ordered a set of Amp Steps myself. Best and most functional step out there IMO. It does not provide any rocker protection like stock but they swing out lower than stock, are hidden away when doors are closed, have a nice wide flat non slipper place to put your feet.

I went with these because I find using the stock ones to be a little awkward to get in and out of the truck.
