Yes, Maxx2893 is correct... DOT is the minimum, but probably the least expensive. Snell is a higher spec of racing helmet. I think M types are for motorcycles, and SA types are for auto racing. The SA has more fire safety characteristics.

VHF that can transmit in the business band.

I sell a Baofeng 5 watt handheld for $55 pre-programmed and charged.

I also sell the Icom F5021 with antenna and magnetic base for $350, its a 50 watt mounted unit.

For the mounted units, I sell Icom because they are a quality brand and can hold up to abuse.

Trey, my uncle is a radio guru (I don't have a clue.. If it's not a cellphone, I don't get it). He looks like he's contacting aliens from his house. Anyways..on topic..He just asked me
" I need to know the freq. and Channel I do have a Buss. band VHF"

Helmet

I saw the helmet discussion, just so I'm clear a minimum of a DOT approved helmet is fine regardless of whether it is a motorcycle or auto racing helmet - correct? I have Schbuerth and Arai DOT and Snell approved motorcycle helmets.

Question: I have a Giro full face helmet made out of carbon fiber for downhill mountain biking... I don't think it's DOT because it's not made for driving but shouldn't it be aloud??

^^^Helmet must be DOT or better (SNELL). Any DOT helmet is acceptable.

How loud is it? Just messing with ya. I would think if they allowed anything that wasn't DOT then it might come back to haunt them if something happened because they are insuring the event.

The requirement is DOT Approved, so I don't think a mountain bike helmet will make the grade. It's for your safety, and probably for insurance reasons as stated above. You can get a DOT for a reasonable price.

If you ride anywhere that requires a helmet for off roading, this will come in handy. All the tracks I've been to in Colorado, Nevada, and Texas require the same.

Can I use a DOT motorcycle helmet?

Yes

Just to clarify. DOT is not required. It's just the lowest rating allowed. Helmets have to be *at least* DOT rated. Snell is allowed as well, If the bike helmet has any kind of rating, you might talk to Trey about it in PM.

Updated OP with TRR Rules.

Few new ones.

1. No UTVs, Quads, Pit Bikes, etc.
2. Driving on the track after hours is grounds for immediate dismissal from the ranch.
