I have had mine on now for two weeks and have done two off road drives (lots of steering input) with no issues. In the install video they show them putting in about 26 ounches of fluid. I put in just short of 22 and when warm is just below the baffles. So no issues with mine.

Is it normal for quite a bit of overflow to happen when off-roading?
I was surprised how much came out the overflow tube. I need to get a longer hose if this will be a common occurrence.

Or could there be something wrong with the overflow value? Any way to test it?

Mine will spit out some at the over flow. I've noticed if you leave the fluid a tick below the baffle when cold that it will significantly reduce the amount of fluid that comes out the overflow.

One thing to be cautious of. If you have your power steering system worked on by someone other than you, be sure to check the fluid level. I've seen some shops fill up the reservoir to the top.
