As a follow up to this for sale ad, here is what happened with the sale.

I saw the seller didn't sell the kit for quite a while, and kept "bump"ing to the top of the list. I made him an offer below what he had it listed for and he said he wouldn't haggle over 50 bucks and to send payment, in a bit of an abrasive way, but regardless I sent him payment. (If he didn't want that sale price he could have just said no)

I got the box a few days after I sent [name removed] (Hole Shot) the money for the bump stop kit. I went out of town with no time to open the box and no time to install the kit.

When I got home, and had everything I need, and help, to install the kit, I unboxed it and found that it was missing two of the frame bolts (they are a little bit specialized because the washer is attached to the bolt, not common to find) and the two bump stop plates were missing. I sure can't put the kit on without those.

I hit up Troy and asked him if he forgot to send the bolts and plates. He informed me that the bolts fell in the frame of the truck that he took it off of and I could just go to the local hardware store and buy my own, or get them from RPG. He also informed me that he decided to keep the plates (That are CLEARLY advertised in the ad, and said to include "everything you see here plus hardware") for a project he was working on.

Clearly a **** move to sell a kit and refuse to send all parts with it. I told him I needed the parts to install it and he said that he "talked to a lot of people about it" and thought it was clear he wasn't selling those parts with the kit. I checked every email I had with him and NEVER was that mentioned, or I wouldn't have bought the kit. I have every email to back it up and will post here if necessary. He also said "you saved enough money with the purchase to go buy the plates." Clearly this was a money issue for him since he sold the kit below what he listed. There wasn't a gun to his head and could have said no to my offer, no need to screw me on the deal.

I contacted the Mod who approved the ad and he could see a potential problem and referred me to a Senior Admin of the board for resolution. The Senior Admin contacted Troy Bailey and said it was a dead issue and I was not getting the parts that he advertised. Not much I can do about it if the Senior Admin doesn't want to "start a witch hunt" about it. So it is what it is.

I wanted to post my experience with purchases on the board for everyone to be cautious when you buy parts from the buy/sell board as you might have this happen to you. Its a real shame because boards like this operate on honesty and common interest. I belong to other boards for other toys I have and have bought a ton of stuff from sellers and this is the first that this has happened. But I have learned from it and thats that.

I am not an admin but have sold and purchased quite a few things on this board. Knock on wood, all my transactions have been great and I feel that I have provided things I sold as described. I am always cautious who I buy from though and try to ask as many questions as possible.

The correct place to leave feedback is not here in the thread but here instead: Sales Feedback - FORD RAPTOR FORUM - Ford SVT Raptor Forums - Ford Raptor

Also might want to look at this post: http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f29/...t-selling-ford-raptor-forum-28954/#post562430

If the seller is a supporting member than you get whatever they have paid to the forum. Troy is not a supporting member.

Personally I too would be somewhat upset with the transaction. It is very clear in the ad that mounting hardware is included (even though it is common to lose the nut in the frame and it sucks!) in addition to the bump stop pad. I personally wouldn't be worried about the nuts but I am surprised that the admins here didn't assist with getting what was included in the picture. Not sure what they can do though.

I will continue to buy and sell here as I prefer to deal with other Raptor owners instead of anywhere else.

It sounds to me like you bought a used product, trying to lowball on something that was already priced well below what it originally sold for, and then got your feelings hurt when the admins didn't side with you. You should know there is always something with used parts. Call up RPG, they are always easy to deal with, and get some new hardware, problem solved.

You apparently haven't sold many things here. You post a reasonable price and EVERYONE low balls you and it sucks. I rarely have been able to sell ANYTHING here at my asking price unless I want to hold off and hope someone buys it. The bump stop plates are $100. And they are included if you purchased the kit from RPG. So in reality, the used part was being sold $100 less than new and if he got him down $50, then that still seems like a fair deal and not as low ball as I have seen things in the past.

This is not my fight, I am merely reading a public post on the Internet. There is always two sides to any story so I will shut up now and if the admins or the OP wants to respond, all to it.

I absolutely have for quite some time, bought and sold, some people are willing to haggle, others are not. It's also specific part dependent, some parts go quickly, others actually go up in price because of demand. I've actually sold a number of parts to people AT asking price, without a hassle, if you haven't experienced it yet, let me tell you, it's really refreshing.

NOLA,

I am the "Senior Admin" you're referring to. I heard your side of the story via IRONMAN, and reached out to the seller immediately.

I have no way of knowing what was discussed between you two prior to money changing hands. I am not PayPal, and this is not eBay. There's very little that I can actually do if a deal goes south other than banning the member after the fact, or possibly obtaining their personal information to assist in a police investigation.

Fortunately, nobody has ever been ripped off here on FRF and it has never come to that. Our minimum post requirements and manual for sale post moderation create a high barrier to scammers conducting business here.

After hearing both sides of the story, I determined that while something did seem off, there was nothing I could do. I decided not to "go on a witch hunt" over some metal plates and nuts.

I am truly sorry that the deal didn't work out to your satisfaction. I hope it doesn't deter you from purchasing items from members here in the future. This post will be left up so that there's at least a history of this transaction. It's not to say the seller did anything wrong, but something future buyers can consider. That's the best I can do. I do believe the seller is an honest person and he will be allowed to sell here again.

My recommendation is to contact Corey at RPG to see if he can send you some used parts (or new) at a discount. Aside from the inconvenience of it all, my hope is that it will all work out for you in the end.

If you need a line to connect with Corey please let me know and I'll be happy to assist.

Birdman,

I didn't want to throw stones and mention names, nor do I want to make this a back and forth with other forum members. I wont reply to any other postings. I made my post and said my piece and there isn't anything to add.

I graciously appreciate you looking into it, and I will PM you for a reference to acquire the parts I still need. This is your board and I am only a guest, I just wanted to pass on my experiences so others can make an informed decision.

Thanks !

If you don't think you got a good deal then send me the kit back in the same condition I sent it to you. I will refund 100% of your money. But it was soooo cheap I bet you won't!!! I am truly sorry that your lack of communication with me has resulted it your unhappiness in this product and my services. There's a lot more to this story but Im really not gonna go in to it. I wish I would have ignored your messages after our first conversation. If you want free parts go design them and build them yourself.
