Ok, so I used a box cutter and a awl, and cleaned off/out the factory bed liner coated torx bolts, looks stock with exposed bolt heads. Lifted bed about 3/4” and slide in bar. Btw it takes a 50 torx plus for those bolts. So that was the ez part. I didn’t know it was going to take a little fabrication to get this $1500 RPG kit to fit. The big slide on frame parts don’t fit. The factory welds on the bottom of the frame where Ford add the extra steel don’t allow them to fit. Next they don’t go in deep enough for the holes to line up for the factory bump stop bolt. Next , since they don’t slide onto the frame enough, the cross bar is a half hole away from those bolts fitting. I still don’t have it installed. Oh another thing, RPG does not supply a wrench for the inner nuts, like all the videos show, the inner nuts are welded on to a single bar of steel, that you need to fish through the 2”x3” hole on the inside of the frame, and try and hold it against the frame face as someone starts the bolts. I have yet to figure out this part, as my ******* hand doesn’t fit.
I may have to modify install steps and get the big bolts in and tightened to pull the frame pieces closer together to get the crossbar and bottoms bolts in. So far, not happy at all with the fit of this RPG air bump kit.
