Roush vs Whipple "torn between"

Just had a Roush installed on my truck and very happy. I don't plan on doing any work internal on my engine so the roush supercharger with a mild 93oct tune can put me in the low 600hp range (flywheel). This is all most recommend on a stock engine. It was a good match for my engine and what I wanted. If I was going to put more money into my engine and wanted more HP then I would of installed a Whipple. The Whipple will give you more room to grow. Both are good supercharges.

You have a costume Tune?
Because the Roush Stage 2 kit only has 590 fwhp.
The basic Roush kit is 525 fwhp.

Before i deside to have Whipple SC i drove Roush Truck with stage 2 and there is big difference in fevor of Whipple ,drivebility and dynamics and the way how the transmision is shifting . just my 2cents :)

i have been running the Whipple for almost a year now, its a daily driver and i have had no problems. Out of the box i got 460whp on the dyne jet and switching the pulley to a 3.375 (10psi) i got 494 at the wheels with the stock tune and no headers. i have since added a smaller pulley 3.250 (12psi) **** injection and a custom tune and now have 520/500 at the wheels more importantly i picked up about 40hp in the midrange. There is more to be had with just this set up, my guess is maybe another 20 or 30hp. i need to spend some time on the dyne and tune with external knock sensors as the stock sensors are picking up to much noise from the supercharger. i am contemplating cams and headers now because i would like to get to 600whp (just cause i like the sound of it). The best part about the custom tune is i now have access to the transmission which Whipple doesn't touch (i dont think Roush does either) and that really wakes the truck up. So far i am really happy and continue to use the truck as my daily driver. i like to do all the mechanical work myself so no warranty here and i have an experienced friend with a shop do the tuning, i have tuned some but don't really want to blow the motor up so i will let a professional blow it up for me ;). I am sure you will be happy with either one but my guess is the Whipple will make a little more power out of the box and due to its size. Of course there are a lot of factors that can affect this and your state may have both good and bad. i'm in Alaska and my positives are i am at sea level and we have lots of cool air, negatives are the best gas i can get is 90.

With the added power Superchargers put out they are increasing the pressure to the clutch packs (bands) otherwise they would slip.
And normal shifting has been updated over the stock Tune that's for sure,
there is a big improvement in shifting, hunting for gears, premature up shifting and the delay the stock Tune has.
But I think they could be more aggressive with shifting.
But no one wants to hear that their Tune or Supercharger killed the Tranny in year and it would also be hard to offer a warranty with a hard shifting program.

Ironic that you can only get 90 in a state with more oil than people. :/

To the OP: if your NOT going to do you own install and you NOT lucky enough to have a dealer like MTF that does superchargers, you should find a local dyno tuner help you make your decision. Mine was completely helpful in pros and cons of each and let ME make the ultimate decision. I went Whipple and full headers and couldn't be happier.

i have the 60/60000m warranty from Whipple for $575.00 , the truck is awsome with this SC , i will take it to KHC in NJ to check it on Dyno .

What I just saw it said $8,000 limit. I went Roush and have 2500 miles on it so far and couldn't be happier that being said I have never driven a Whipple supercharged Raptor so I have nothing to compare it too.
