Hey all,

I am new to this after purchasing my 2018 raptor last week. It has 64k miles on it. i have been stressing about the ride. It rides pretty rough and I feel like it bounces a lot, is a little vibratie and just rides rough in general.

I was thinking for 54k I would be getting a super smooth and comfortable ride. Instead it feels like my wife’s old crv that’s bounce around like crazy.

I’m not sure if I’m just not use to trucks? Or maybe it’s the all terrain tires the previous owner out on it? Pics below for reference. And if so- how much smoother a ride will I get if I ditch these for an all seasons tire?

could it be anything else?

Those look like Load Range E tires, which is for heavy duty trucks. Gonna ride rougher. Also check the PSI, air them down to mid 30's. As far as I know set of new stock BFG's are going to provide the best overall ride, Load Range C's.

I ran a set of stock size E's for a little while and it was horrible. It felt like every other truck on the road. Went back to stockers, all good again. I have an 18 also.

You're at the mileage range of shock rebuild or replacements. Rockauto is the least expensive source for new shocks. There are several vendors who do a full rebuild service, it may or may not be cost effective.

Those tires are an interesting choice for a raptor. At the minimum take them somewhere to have the balance checked, ask them to make sure they run true on the balance test.

Welcome to the place and congrats on your raptor. As others have said, check your tire pressure.

The previous owner put the cheapest 315's he could find just to sell it with "New" tires.
Id see if you can find a tire shop that will take them on trade (at least a partial) and get yourself a decent tire that's not load range E.
A stiff tire and too much air makes these trucks feel terrible.
On a BFG 37-12.50/17 I found my happy spot at 34 front and 32 rear.

As others have already mentioned, 50k is the interval for shock replacement/rebuild with no off-roading. Try a C or D rated tire and make sure the tire pressure is set lower than the factory recommendation.

I bought mine used and it had 20" E rated tires on it. I HATED the ride. Switched back to 17" wheels and I run D Rated Duratracs at 35 PSI and the ride changed dramatically.
