Hey guys,

Saw this on facebook:
toyota-tacoma-by-dc-_600x0w.jpg

Camburg racing built it for DC.

The info:
Toyota Tacoma we built for @dcshoes going in the @toyotausa booth at this years 2013 SEMA show. @general_tire Grabber AT2 tires @kmcwheels Enduros @nfabinc side steps @kchilites 40" LED light bar @scoscheinc power cables and personal electronic charging as well as bluetooth boomBOTTLES @camburgracing suspension #meyer snowplow @arbusa pop up tent @thule racks @linex arctic white paint job #camburg #toyota #dcshoes #scosche #generaltire #kmcwheels #arb #thule #kchilites #ipad #jobox #snowplow #snowmobile #dcsnow

I looked up the Arbusa SImpson tent and it did not look too impressive. There are some cool UK safari ones I saw on YouTube, but they are a few thousand though.

Anyone use these? Right now I just bring some ground tents, but it gets tough to stake them down, rolling them up gets a bit dirty, then stuffing them in bags, storing them in the garage until the next trip.

Roof racks:
Are there Roof racks that mount flush when not in use so I can clear parking garages? I am already inches away on a 7" garage with Top Perch and 37" Baja tires.

How hard are these tents to remove from the roof racks when not in use?

This all seems a bit expensive, but it looks easier than messing around with ground tents. One with a retractable roof might be good for looking at stars with the ladies :boobs:

Nice setup Icecobra!

I looked at the roof racks, and most have a max load of 165lbs for the f150 screw.
2010 Ford F-150 Supercrew Roof Rack - Complete System - Thule Traverse - CargoGear

I weight 180 and want to sleep with a 120 woman up top, so I dont think that will work out weight wise :(

Update: Thats the dynamic weight when the vehicle is in motion. Sounds like these tents are heavy and might not do so well when flying through the desert at 115mph,

The Tepui tent is only about 50 to 70 pounds... Attaches well and I don't think it would be an issue at least based on how I installed this one...They have a cover that attaches over the tent then the tent has bolt clamps to attach to the rack mount you choose... I was skeptical at first but now I would not hesitate to use it.. I actually have future plans to re do my rack system to accommodate the tent on to the truck and all my gear under it... It sleeps two easily and the 120 pound woman does not have to sleep on top... She can sleep next to me..

We use an Autohome Maggiolina on our Defender 110. It's a bomb proof setup but not the cheapest. If I remember right it weighs about 130lbs. Super water tight and wind proof. Sets up/down in about 2 min and is a piece if cake if having to do it while raining...

I use the Pace Edwards Ultragroove cover, which allows the installation of Tule bars and a tent of top of that. It's also very high quality - better made than any BAK product..
