I would like to share my experience mounting D lights in bumper openings on my 2014 Raptor. The plates from RI that are vehicle specific are solid. But the mounting hardware is atrocious! They want you to use two flimsy self-tapping screws and two bolts with weird, flimsy clip gadgets instead of regular nut. Please. Drilled four holes through the frame crossbar. Holes closer to the center go through both lower and upper table of the crossbar. Outside holes are just through lower table. Used stainless steel 5/16" bolts and nuts with regular and tension washers. 2" long bolts go through inner holes with nuts on top of crossbar. Outer bolts are 1" long with the nuts placed through open end of crossbar fastening just to the lower table. This requires work lying on your back, contorting you fingers in small places over your face. Guess is not for everybody. But it results in a solid bond between plate and frame. Not gonna get loose by any amount of jarring or vibrations. Once lights are positioned and tightened to these plates, the whole thing feels like it is integral part of the truck. Rock solid.
