Chinese products = crap

The current Mustang 6 spd manual uses the MT82 transmission, built by Getrag at a joint- venture plant in China.

Ironically, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation into reported transmission problems in 2011 and 2012 Ford Mustangs. Customer frustration is well documented on the web.

So, yes, Chinese products = crap, but why in the hell is Ford using their shit?

Have you tested all the lights out? I'm talking Phantom, Black Knight, GG lighting etc etc...
A few of the Chinese made products just did VERY well in the 1000 in the Trophy Truck class 2 weeks ago, if they can with stand 700 miles on a TT I'm sure they can with stand what ever a Raptor can throw at them.

Anyone have the place to buy or a discount code for rigid industries?

I don't think I've ever seen a discount on Rigid's products unless you know someone.

So that brings the question.. What would some of the really good Chinese lights? I'd be interested in hearing some.

I like the Vision-X lights however they're SOOOOOOO expensive!

Personally I would look to Black Knight for my lights if I didn't get hooked up with Rigid. He's been around for a decent amount of time and have yet to hear any complaints about his customer service.

Here's a pretty good thread about LED lighting that has some very good info regarding them including the testing of different lights and their output. Really good read IMO
Who's made the switch to LED's, from HID's or Halogens ?

My fiance' has a 2011 5.0 GT with the M6, and yep, that trans whines like you'd swear there was a blower on the car. Taking it into the dealer this spring once I get my Raptor. If we had known it was a Chinese POS trans back when we ordered it, we may have gotten the auto as lame as it is. Guys are running 9's in 5.0's on the stock automatic transmissions, and the 6 speed manual is a hit or miss POS.

But its designed by the Germans so it must be good, right??

I'd say there are way more happy MT82 mustang owners than un-happy ones. So far they seem to be doing ok in the BOSS stangs. The T45's had their own share of problems early on too. The tremec tko 500 and 600 had plenty of their own issues (I owned a 600) and they were supposed to be the shit! I think in the end they all have problems in some way. It does suck its been out sourced to china, but that comes with any new mass produced vehicle. My mom ordered a 2012 5.0 with the MT82, its due in a few weeks. Hopefully its not a hunk of shit or I might have to eat my own words.

You're right, Pirate. From what I've read the problems aren't isolated to the MT82.

Shoulda put your Mom in a Toyota.

But they don't make the Supra anymore... Actually my moms pretty cool when it comes to cars. She already has one stang (a 93 fox) but wanted a faster/new one. So now she'll have two 5.0's. Curious to see what she thinks of the power on the new 5.0. She even opted for the 3.73 gear package lol

Anywho, how about them RIGIDS!
