Your typical family boat will burn a whole tank of fuel in 2 hours run WOT non-stop. Nobody does that though, and the tanks last more than a day.

Again- a turbo V8 is not a Powerwheel where it's either 1000 HP or nothing. The entire range of power is available to the driver. There has never once in my entire life when I thought to myself, "This vehicle I'm driving- it has too much power."
You haven’t driven powerful enough stuff then. Period. Hell…a YAMAHA Raptor could make you say “why does this thing have so much power” lol

I’ve been on/in a few vehicles that gave me pause & made me think “wtf am I doing & why does this thing need this much power”

Another thing that comes to mind is a bored/stroked built up Yamaha 2 stroke waverunner standup type that was built for racing & had like 100+HP in something I could literally pickup & carry around- too much power lol!!

It comes down to the sound. I am kicking around an R, amongst other, more logical ;) choices. I looked at and drove an 802a and a RHO. The value prop of the RHO is second to none..There is a s#it pile of truck there for the dough...For me, until ya hit the start button, it is a no brainer. Once it starts, my ears bleed. My daily drivers for the past 25 years (9 of them) have been either v8's or diesels. I guess I am just used to the sound of old school power?!?

My point is they all have a throttle. You use what is useable as a driver. Did you kill yourself on those simply because they had what you thought was too much power? No, you drove it at 8/10s instead of 10/10s since it had more than enough power for you.
