the write up and the practical applications (side spots in a pinch) are seriously pushing me to get these.

Looks like you can, I actually kind of like the colour it changed to. I emailed where I bought them to see what they have to say before I do anything.

Not to derail your thread but what LED do you have in your reflector spot?

Really want those LED lights also but $500 is a chunk for not that many lumens.

Did they charge you anything? I just heard back from AAC and they want to charge me $30 to ship the replacement pieces, haha

So I find this a defect in the quality of the product. I was not charged since I had the lights in the truck for 6 months. They worked well with me on this issue. IMHO these plates should not change color/oxidize in a 6 month period. I was told that they had addressed these issues in the new plates to avoid this issue. Only time will tell.
