I will say that with the other vehicles that we offer this for, we've had absolutely zero problems with over 700 kits sold. I'm sure some have left them on for longer than 30 seconds, that's just as far as I have personally tested.

I don't mean to beat the horse but perhaps you can poll some of your customers and ask them how long they've had their lights on (in reverse). Before I would buy this product I absolutely would want to know if I have to worry about how long my truck is in reverse.

Are these HID's or just a bright bulb - where's the ballast?

Please do. The last thing you want is for someone to have their truck in reverse for 31 seconds or 3 minutes or longer and have something go wrong that affects the truck's lights, housing or electrical.

One of my local LX guys came over last night. I did 2 things.

1. I ran his reverse HID for 2 minutes. The temperature of the taillight lens raised in temp by 16.3 degrees. No smoke, burning, etc.
2. I reinstalled his factory halogen bulb in one side. Ran it for 1 minute. The taillight lens raised in temp by 27.7 degrees.
Temp tested with laser thermometer.

So, in actuality, this runs cooler than the factory reverse lights in the LX

They are HID. The ballast is mounted to the metal behind the housing. Since we use a slim ballast, it's smaller than a blackberry and mounts with ease.
