I was just thinking...you know the people who kind of turn their nose up to you because you drive this massive gas guzzling waste of a truck? My satisfaction comes when the first major snow storm hits and all those people are stuck at home or struggling to pull out of a parking spot that's been plowed in. They look in your direction for some help...toss it in 4WD, :flipthebird:, and floor it.

My personal favorite are the drivers who log 32,000 miles per year in their Priuses who get upset about folks like me driving a truck 8k/year. Not to mention that these are the same folks who threw their aluminum cans in the trash 15 years ago because recycling wasn't yet trendy and hip, and back then no one was watching.

And I can't exactly load 5 DH mountain bikes onto a Prius and put 5 people in it and drive it up a truck trail.

I'm not looking forward to this aspect of owning a Raptor. My current almost-stock-height 4wd Sierra 1500 on 33s does not attract much attention, but I'm guessing the Raptor certainly will. Mileage should be about the same as my current 2004, possibly better.

I'm just happy the Raptor appears unlikely to turn into a "statement" like the ridiculous Hummer H2.

that's exactly right. even i am disgusted when i see a hummer. most people compliment the truck and love it. there's always that question they have to ask to legitimize why they drive a Japanese sedan "must suck on gas huh?" i say "yep" and they usually feel satisfied...until snow falls.

Everyones bugging me to get a cheap little 4 banger FWD car, I just laugh at them and every year, during winter, id be picking some of em up for school in my brothers truck cause their car couldnt get out of the driveway.

I will never buy a car, untill I have a reliable 4X4

I always told myself I'd never have a truck as my daily driver (I like to go fast, always drove sports cars, and I have several trucks for my business when I need one)

But last year was exceptionally wet out here in the country and I couldn't get my BMW out to paved road for the better part of 3 months. Finally had enough and went to test drive some trucks.

I had no idea at the refinement level and how far pickups had come in 10 years! Plus I'm actually driving something with some utility.

I'm thinking I'll be keeping this Raptor for a long time.
