My truck is getting built tomorrow, and as you can imagine I can't wait for it to get here. I've got a manual Roll-N-Lock on my current F150, and the only thing I don't like about is that it isn't electric. There are a couple of options out there for a powered cover, so I was hoping to get some feedback on which one people prefer.

To me they're both going to offer the same level security for the important cargo in my truck (my golf clubs), so the thing that I'm most interested in is if one of them does a better job keeping the truck bed dry than the other.

Thanks!

They both are going to offer the same amount of security since they both feature a keyed lock.

The Retrax PowertraxPRO is going to fit a more flush and flat along the tailgate vs the Roll-N-Lock has the "hump" towards the cab at the front of the bed.

Both will be roughly the same with water ingress as they're both top quality covers. Our customers don't have issues with either one.

If you're interested in the PowertraxPRO we'd be happy to help get you setup with that. Please let us know if you have any questions!

I have a retrax powertrax pro mx and I love it. Power with a fob is awesome and the only way to go ! Properly installed it works excellent. It's like having a lockable huge trunk! And I think it holds about 500 pounds on the top if you wanted to use it that way. My opinion, highly recommended!:D

With the RetraxPRO Mx cover, can you open the tailgate with the cover fully closed? Or do you have to open it a little bit?

Yes you can open the tailgate with a completely closed. No issue that way at all. And having the power version of the cover allows you to lock it in place anywhere along the track so if you put something in the bed and you want to squeeze it up against the tailgate when you're driving that works great too.

Hope that helps

I have a RetraxPro MX on my '19 and can give it a push from the back and it will literally fully open. With the excellent, easy ball bearing operation I really don't see the need for power operation, but that's just me.

Had the roll and lock, currently have the retrax MX pro ..

Prefer the cleaner look of MX, over roll and lock but roll n lock cover had a nice softer top part

Locking mechanism feels better on MX
My roll n lock lock cover broke off after few months

Just got mine. No water intrusion after 8hrs of steady rain. Tailgate opens easily and with the remote as well.

Mine is a little tight getting it moving but after the first 6" of travel is will retract on it's own if I'm facing downhill in my driveway. I'm hoping the sticking, for lack of a better description, loosens up after using it for a few days.
