Just had my blend motor replaced. I thought it'd take a couple days, but they had my truck back to me in 24hrs. Kinda glad too. Enterprise gave me Kia Sorento for a rental...what a joke! :manos:

I just had mine replaced as well. Mine is also still making the noise. Does the door work on a vacuum and will it always make the sound when starting the truck? I had mine replaced because it was not cooling correctly.

My mechanic says that if it is the left actuator that has gone bad, I am looking at 5 hours of labor plus the part, could cost as much as $600-$700, which means I am going to let it 'knock' until it fails. For those of you who have been that far into the dash, does the amount of labor sound about right?

I could be wrong, but the way I understood it was their is only 1 blend actuator. Not sure about their being a left and right. It sits under the dash in the center behind nav screen/ radio. Mine was replaced under warranty, but I had mechanics tell me it was a 4-6 hour job.

There's one for the driver and one for the passenger side, one is high under the dash and is fairly cheap to replace but the other one is low under the dash and is very expensive just to get to. I don't recall which side is on top and which is on bottom, but one is far cheaper to replace than the other

I did this on my 98. What a pain for such a cheap part. Don't know if I would do it again. Had to take just about the entire dash out after 100000 screws and bolts. Not sure if the newer truck are any different.

These fail in virtually every ford. It is an absolute joke that Ford doesn't just do it right the first time. My 2011 started doing it right before I gave it back to the dealer, and my wife's 2009 expedition started doing it right after warr was up. Zero quality. Dealer wanted $1300 to replace both, which is a joke too.

There are a few youtube videos for replacing the expedition ones. You might want to see what you can find.
