Nvm I just looked up the part number, they did replace it. Funny, I actually saw the crankshaft pulley wobbling prior to the motor f*****g up. I wonder if they torqued it incorrectly

That would be my guess. The torque procedure is critical; if they just estimated the 90 degree and 60 degree angles, it was probably under torqued. They should be using a torque wrench that measures angle in addition to torque. Check the crank timing gear; if it’s broken, show them the service message I sent you.

Hey OP did you opt for the teardown and hopefully for your sake somebody did something wrong? I’d pass on that 14k new motor lol

So this other dude is saying a test mule Raptor(which doesn’t even have rounded wheel flares)is running an N/A 800/850 factory 7.3 in it? Wow can’t even start to comment on how that could ever be possible.

I haven’t done the tear down yet, I contacted ford customer service. They told me they’ll send an “engineer/inspector” down once the motor is broken down. The dealership wants to charge $1850 to tear down the motor, which will not be deducted from the $14k if I chose to replace the motor. Now here’s the dilemma…

I paid $1800 for the warranty, if I use it, it should cover the cost for a new motor.

If I pay the $1850 and ford is at fault then the replacement + $1850 will be covered.

If I pay the $1850 and ford doesn’t take fault them in out $1850 + $1800 with a new motor, assuming the warranty covers it
