I need the 'trick' on how to physically remove the starter?

Got the two mounting bolts out, the transmission cooling lines off to the side, the electrical lines disconnected.

but it only moves about a 1/2" back - I can't seems to find the trick - twist - angle to actually pull it from the truck...

any experience?

I just confirmed that the Workshop Manual shows what you just described; remove electrical connections and the 2 “stud bolts” and slide the starter out. Not sure why it’s stuck. This is a Gen 2 correct?

Glad to see that Ford has continued their time honored tradition of stuffing things in very tight places.

Dumb question; Have you tried working a small pry bar in there?
