Bajeesus a 3 foot ratchet? I have a 18" 1/2" driver, guess i could put a pipe over that if needed. Thanks for the part #s, I will get those ordered ahead of time.
No problem.

Yessir, one of the best investments I've ever made. I've hung off that ratchet under a trailer trying to get a brake chamber off and she didn't skip a tooth. Just don't go jerking on them when trying to break them loose and you should be fine.

I am thinking next spring I would like to remove the box and fully detail my frame and the underside of the box. What are the chances those torque bolts holding the box in place will come out? Should a guy buy new bolts and have the old ones cut out with a torch? Anybody been able to get them off recently? Accepting all reasonable solutions :)
Mine came out no problem. 2012 from Florida though... definitely buy me bulls the old ones are hideous anyway. May want to look into new t-nuts too.

while the bed is off why not go ahead and install a bump kit? Or go full bore and run a link kit...

maybe pull out the spare put in a bed mount. Remove the pulley system.

as far as the removal of you have an overhead lift it will be a walk in the park. I got creative with an engine hoist. While it’s off check your rear cab vents, and might as well hit the bottom of the bed with some spray too.

All but one came out of mine, the nut broke loose from the keeper. Not too big a job, but can get tedious depending on how deep you want to go.

Soak down the nuts you can get to from below prior to removal. I used a S38TP50 (Napa part #) on my 36" ratchet and they didn't put too much of a fight up. I wouldn't put an impact on them for fear of splitting the nut keepers myself.

Front nuts (bought individually, two needed): W708605-S436
Middle and rear nuts (came as bag of four, four needed): W712174-S436
Bed bolts (six needed): W709424-S902
I never in my life have needed a 3 ft ratchet. Heat is your friend. A series of hot and cold with get just about anything free. I feel like I would strip or break any bolt I put that wrench to. Lol

On a side note do they sell a 10mm socket for that? Hahah

I already have a bump kit on it. Its got lots of surface rust on it, going to get that powder coated when I take the box off.

You didn’t remove them when you got the truck and put anti-seize on and then reinstall to the torque spec? :)
You know, that should be a given, I wish I had of done that. I know for a fact it's not going to be a happy time taking it apart.

Once you've been using the same box for a few years,

Once you've been using the same box every day for a long time, you should be ready for a new one anyway. They get banged around pretty hard.
As I mention before though I think if you just get some work done to the sides the box can look and function like brand new.....new ones can be hard to find these days....:33:
