GEN 2 Remove your locks or lose you stuff

Should be shot dead. Maybe if we could do so and not be charged, some criminals would start thinking twice. We do not need more in prison or jails. Lets weed them out.

All my windows are tinted, so it would be more work to break the glass and gain entry. Do it or don't do, this is just a heads up for people to try to make their vehicle a little safer. My guess was that if they walked up to my truck with vise grips ready to pop the lock, that they would have turned around if they didn't see a lock cylinder. I'm also guessing that THIS criminal wouldn't want to mess with glass, as he was ready with grips and probably wasn't carrying a hammer to break the glass.

I don’t want to make light of your situation here and I most certainly regret this happened to you, but, you don’t need a 3 pound hammer to break the rear glass, a glass breaker impact tool is probably right there alongside this thief’s vice grips. You probably just had the nicest looking ride and most financial payoff if they were lucky.

Remember, stuff taken from you is just that; stuff. you can replace stuff. Life and health are another matter. You have your life and health and you suffered a vehicle break in. Be thankful. You’ve already drawn lessons from what happened, and you’ve shared with others in a similar position. Honestly, you’re handling this very well.

thanks for the info, been to san antonio but i usually peel off on the 190 to killeen. never worried too much except when i passed through el paso, always got a bad feeling, wont even stop for gas there, usually drive straight through, but the older i get gonna have to stop for the night someplace. again, super bummed for you.

The only problem the thieves don't know you've done the mod and will tear the crap out of the door with vise grips trying to get in, or just break the window. Scumbags will always find a way.

******* SA. This is the 3rd Raptor break in I've read about on the forums here. Twice to the same guy...will keep a close lookout for mine when I get it.

Had my truck broken into last night. Looks like the thief grabbed the lock cylinder with vise grips and spun the lock. Saw another raptor that had the same thing happen to him so he replaced the back plate of the handle with the drivers rear plate. Now there's no lock to turn or punch. Do the mod before it's too late.

You leave guns in a vehicle and one is stolen but you are glad that they didn't get your laptop? You are they type of gun owner that probably shouldn't own guns. That is straight up ******* to leave firearms in your vehicle. You should be concerned that your firearm isn't used in a murder or other crimes. Thieves suck and should be dealt with accordingly. Leaving firearms in a vehicle is just plain irresponsible.

Yea it sucks. They stole my Glock that was unsecured, but I'm lucky that's all they took. Had a 2k laptop, both kids ipads, and 2 other guns. Need to invest in a console vault/safe.

I stand by my post. Owning firearms comes with a responsibility way beyond most anything else. That responsibility doesn't end with locking your vehicle door. There is now a firearm in the possession of a felon and possible a minor. This is exactly how firearms end up in the possession of bad guys. This was 100% preventable. Break ins are going to happen. There is very little that can be done to prevent that. What can be prevented is what the thieves have access to once they do break in.

My father is a retired LEO. Several years ago he did the same exact thing. Left his firearm in the vehicle overnight. The next morning it was gone. I busted his chops just as bad. He knows better but just got a little too compliant. His gun was recovered 5-6 years later in a drug raid.
