My ADD bumper is coming in next week. Exactly how hard is it to take off the front bumper? When I look from underside I see lots of bolts. Its confusing to see which ones you need to take off. Also, does taking it off mess up the hood release lever?

It's not too hard

Take off the skid plate first, then find and remove the bumper bolts. There aren't too many.

Yes, you have to disconnect the hood release from the bracket it's connected to (part of the stock bumper)

ADD didn't ship a bracket for it for my bumper, so I just ghetto rigged it on there

Just make sure ADD ships you the bracket you need so your hood latch is not just hanging there. ADD has a poor record of seeing to it the customer gets what they need. All the bolts you will get with it are grade 5 so you might want to get bolts that are grade 8. Also get pinch nuts for the grade 8 bolts to make sure once you tighten it, it stays tight. You can use the bolts provided by ADD but at least use lock tight on them. You will also need to drill out 4 additional holes to get all the bolts in.... CHeck your fitment once you get it on, I have noticed that ADD fitment is poor and you may find you have to bend or pull to get proper fitment..... Good luck...

LOL.. I would not call it hatred, I do like the product, the company itself lacks people that care, or will provide after sale support. For ADD its all about get the money, product delivery is just not a priority. I have read so many complaints about ADD that I realize if we as a group don't push them to a higher standard mediocre support is all were going to get. If we want better products we have to demand them, or we will never get them to step up... This is just a heads up for the guy wanting to do a bumper from them...

ouch!

...but I can relate. Luckily for them, they make some awesome stuff that few have matched.

To the O/P, as others have stated, the front bumper removal is very easy and is a 1 person job. When you get under the truck you can tell which bolts, as they are the big ones holding the bumper to the frame.

Grade 5 bolts have a maximum tensile strength of 105k pounds. No need to waste money on grade 8. Save it for other mods

Its not a tensile strength issue its a shear strength... It is lateral forces that cut them very easily. So you want grade 8 which doubles the shear strength... Its cheap insurance after having just paid almost 2000 for a bumper they should include 8.00 worth of the proper mounting hardware...
