Anybody ever think of taking your key to Ford and getting the battery replaced? Hate to be obvious here but seems like a great place to start. Just saying.

I was told by Ford that there is no way it is the battery and I tend to agree since both keys have the same issue. They told me interference from metal objects and outside signal producers could cause. Except mine works better the more objects in the way. Go figure.

I am wondering if they used the cheapest vendor to produce these key FOBS.

That all depends. different types of stuff handle signals differently some bounce some pass threw and some stop it.

The battery in the key fob. I doubt it because it works on the 2nd try.
