Can not worry about everything. Use common sense when and where you leave your truck unattended and in my case i added extra insurance of $15000 for an increase of $120 extra per year to cover mods if anything happens to the truck.

That dude was in his driveway. Common sense tells me he should have parked on the roof?

Faraday bag/pouch would prevent this. 100%

Lots of Ford Engineers worked on convenience and ease of use - the auto unlock for example at the door is configured to unlock all 4 doors. great if you are in a hurry, or to let in a potential carjacker.

You can change this behavior in the settings menu so it only unlocks the driver's door.

As for this type of theft, the relay only works when the key is close, so it won't work at the mall. I suspect it cannot target individual keys if multiple smart keys are present, so it probably wouldn't work at Starbucks either.

You can change remote unlock to only unlock the driver’s door, and you can change driver’s unlock to only unlock the driver’s door ( with the electronic key, you walk up to the door and put your hand in the handle. However, I have not found a way to change that behavior for the passenger door.

IOW, you approach with electronic key in your pocket, put hand in door handle, all 4 doors unlock.

this doggone well would work at ‘bucks. Unless you have some cavernous starbucks you’re talking about.

The reason this relay won't work well at Starbucks is because it doesn't know which of which of the 50 smart keys in Starbucks to relay. The thief could stand there for 10 minutes trying all the different keys, but that is a darn good way to get caught.

Looks like a row house block in the video. The car was worth more than the house? Or someone was visiting or buying drugs? lol Who the hell knows....
Insurance, insurance, insurance. If someone wants to steal a car/truck they will. Let the insurance deal with the aftermath.
