I installed a Borla S-Type exhaust system on my Raptor when it had 10k miles, fast forward 5 yr and it now has 150k. I installed the exhaust in my driveway by myself, not to difficult of a task. Never could get the tips adjusted to my liking and most of the connections drip water (exhaust leak) so I decided to do something about it. When I parked the truck for the night I crawled under it and sprayed the joints down with PB Blaster. Next morning same thing sprayed everything down with PB Blaster again. After about an hour I crawled under and loosened all the clamps from the resonator back. Once everything was loose I started inspecting the system for missing parts or damage and to my surprise there was none. I made adjustments retightened everything back up this time getting the exhaust tips right on the money.

It took three heat cycles using remote start for 10 minutes each time to get all the clamps tight enough so water does not drip from them. Now that all the little exhaust leaks are fixed the exhaust sounds better than ever and what little drone there was is gone. I swear it sounds like an all new exhaust system.

Nice job
It’s my understanding that most of the aftermarket exhaust companies use cheap clamps and this becomes a problem. I’ve always wanted to upgrade my clamps on my Borla set up on my 03 cobra but 10 years later haven’t gotten around to it

I'm impressed with the build quality of the Borla exhaust system, the fit and finish are top tier. As far as the clamps go, stainless steel is about as good as it gets. The exhaust leaks on my system were caused by me not getting the clamps positioned correctly and not getting them tight enough, but that is no longer the case.

After 10 years, I swapped S Type Stainless Works mufflers for the Stainless Works Turbo mufflers. Much less aggressive sound, somewhat disappointed. If the S type mufflers don’t sell, I may just swap back.

Alrighty another year and a half has past so lets see how the exhaust has held up. I like how high and tight the Borla system rides and the tips have held their position very well.
