Out of curiosity what tires do you think are better than the stock for speed? The stock have the highest speed rating of any tire out there from what I have been able to find.

From what I understand, Nitto makes some with a high speed rating.

Negative their highest rated tire at our size and up is only an R rating (which is less than stock) and that’s on the Terra Grappler which is an AT tire and looks like garbage. To step up to a hybrid MT/AT you are looking at the Ridge Grappler which drops down to a Q rating.

Try to remember that regardless of the amount of testosterone you think is coursing through your arteries that this is a mass produced truck that absolutely anyone can buy.

And I remember a survey taken of American drivers some years back that revealed, unsurprisingly, that nearly everyone believed themselves to be an above average driver. Think about that.

Oh absolutely I was concerned for the tires; one these are not "GO FAST" tires also it was like 3rd day of the heat wave and cruising on a hot asphalt in the sun I was concerned with a blow out. Now did not want to go to fast cause the "PIT ROAD" (if you know what I mean) was 55 so if I did see an official getting down from 90 to close to what is acceptable had to be manageable. I have to say Ford did an excellent job with this vehicle; passing tractor trailers etc very smooth, cross winds etc

I agree 100%. My question was directed to the user who commented he would not remove the governor on the stock tires. (I have no interest in removing the governor or taking the truck above what Ford feels the truck can safely handle) I have been hesitant to remove the stock tires and replace them with a tire that has a lower speed rating. I am simply trying to find out if that user found a tire which had a higher speed rating.

Sorry. I guess I didn't hit the " post reply" last time. I have no personal experience with them on this truck but from what I understand Nitto makes some with a higher speed rating. I have them on a 17 250 superduty with an 8"lift and heavily tuned. The people that lifted it recommended them and to be honest I have never been on rougher riding tires than these trail grapplers.
