Several times in the past month when I'm parked and I go to take off my rear wheel/wheels are locked and you can hear it dragging across the concrete, I finally noticed the 4 wheel symbol was lit up the last time. I usually have to put in park and then back in drive once or twice before I can actually drive off.

Any thoughts on whats causing this and a solution?

Do you park on an incline? It could be your hill start assist malfunctioning and not releasing the brakes, but that's just an educated guess.

No, it's relatively flat where I park.

The 4wd symbol with the "x" between bottom two wheels pops up when it happens. Its usually when I'm parked for several hours, mostly in the morning, but has happened once after work.

That sounds like the diff lock symbol, sounds like you need the dealer and get them to take a look!

How do the rear wheels lock up and skid when you are driving off. Would you simply not even move???

Is your emergency brake on? Go to the dealer or jack up the rear of the truck and take the wheels off and take a look, block the front wheels first, start to diagnos from there.

I don't go very far maybe a few feet. Tire drags and makes the burning out sound.

Is the 4wd knob pulled out or pushed in?

pushed in

Does it quit when when u hit 20mph?

I never get that far, its usually when I'm parked and put in drive.

Emergency brake is off. I'll prob be taking it in after Christmas but wanted to see if anyone here had this issue before.
This would be covered under power train warranty? 100K? I have 42K
