If they had an option to replace the entire tailgate down the road, I'd be down for that for sure. Doubt that's an option tho
I was told it is a different tailgate without the applique.
It should have the Raptor logo similar to the Gen1, and no holes where the applique attaches

I talked to my salesman today and he said Ford pulled their allocation for my truck.

My order will remain open and if/when they get the allocation back it'll schedule. I put $500 deposit down on it in October when I ordered. Not the news I wanted, but the news I was expecting at this point.
I’m sorry to hear that, that’s terrible. Best of luck to you maybe you can find an unclaimed incoming stock for not too much adm.

called the dealership and had them remove it but now I regret doing it. First was auto SS then blue cruise now tail gate. Where does it stop. There is no credit for removing it either. I’m frigging pissed at myself. I think it looks better with it than without it.
If you’re beating yourself up, not too late to call em back and say keep it on there. It’s an 80k truck and you’ve been patient… might as well get what you want. At least that’s my thinking.

I was going through this same thing yesterday and emailed the dealer and said leave it on. He said he hadn’t heard of the rear appliqué situation. Lol. I looked the truck with and without and like it with personally. I ordered black and don’t think either look bad, but the appliqué is more to my liking.

You are right. I will add it back.

So one of the “I am Raptor” options is no longer. Let me guess ….”if you can get your raptor deliveries with 22” limited wheels, we can do that and deliver it early.

I just don’t get why there isn’t more news on this from others if it’s legit? I’m definitely not knocking the op, but you think with so many still unscheduled we would hear quite a few stories of this happening

Checked with my dealer and they didn’t know anything about this. Anyways, I swapped to a stock order with a VIN while I was there. Ordered 12/31 and still no VIN for my original order.

I talked to the salesman and sales manager and they both were aware of the email from ford. Go figure!

New here, been lurking. Haven't had anything to add until now. My sales manager just called and let me know that I could remove the appliqué on my '22 order and protect my contracted price (from late November '21) or keep it, but it will likely push to MY '23, at applicable pricing. I told him to just delete the appliqué. I'm indifferent on it... Just want the truck! It's nuts that when I am finally a point in life to afford the truck I've wanted for 10 years, it becomes this game.

Did you already have a vin and production date?

I could see this being the case for unscheduled builds. But again as I mentioned if you have a build date and a vin i would think ford sees they have enough to complete what is scheduled and that’s why this doesn’t apply to already scheduled orders
