I've searched this forum some time looking for information on this so here it goes.

I have a '13 SCrew with an SCT performance tune, AFE CAI and Magnaflow Exhaust. I am running the stock suspension as it came from the factory.

I do a fair amount of towing a bass boat and sometimes I travel several hundred miles at a time. I am having some spur attic suspension hop and am quite stumped as to what to do. I am hoping that someone on this site can help. So here are the details.

20 foot bass boat, trailer was level across with it hoked up to the truck. It tows great with the performance tune the majority of the time at speeds from 60 to 80. From time to time i will accelerate and it acts like the rear end is beginning to hop until i slow down to 55 or so. It may come out of it or it may not.

My question is: Is this a suspension issue and if so, how do i rectify. I would assume there would be some way to stiffen the stock suspension to prevent this and allow for better towing capacity, but i can't find anything on it.

Can anyone offer any insight in this?

Thanks

The trailer is bouncing the truck probably. Its not the truck. Shoot a side profile of the truck hooked up to the trailer with the boat on it. What kind of tires does the trailer have? What air pressure are you running in the trailer tires? How heavy is the boat? How heavy is he outboard engine hanging out back?

We offer a system that should help you out

A performance and towing suspension? | Raptor Performance Group

Lately with all the testing we've been doing I have been using the 4" airbump solution and I love it. My F150 ecoboost has the standard duty springs on it and when the longer 4" bumps are in, it handles the 9,000lbs with ease.

Thanks

Sounds like not enough tongue weight. Ive towed my triple axle boat trailer upwards of 80 and didnt like the feel either. Ive towed with dulleys and other trucks above 80 without issue. My settup weighs around 7500. I think the 35" tires add alittle sway. I just keep it under 80 and everything is fine!

I will take a pic and post the next time that I haul it.

The trailer does have hydraulic brakes and none of the wheels get remotely warm.

I think I have plenty of tounge weight.. The first time I towed this boat with this truck I had an excessive amount of sway on the highway when I was over 55-69 mph.. So I put on a 4" drop hitch instead of a 2" and the sway went away and now I have this spuratic hop.
