Has anyone done perimeter style lighting on their truck? I'm debating maybe just getting a topper basket and mounting the side and rear lights to it.

If I was going to keep the stock bumper I'd just do that, but I want a tube bumper with a dovetail bed. I'll probably just get a topper basket and mount the rear and side lights to it for perimeter lighting.

Meso Customs is working on an injection molded BD S1 light that slides into the hitch receiver. Should be out any month now.

That sounds like a cool idea. Even to diy something.
They post it on their IG story once a month or so and I never remember to screenshot it. It looks awesome. It just slides in and uses a pin to stay in place. Wire it into the backup harness or to an upfitter.

They also make a ton of different 3rd brake light housings for Tacomas. They are missing out big time on the Raptor market.

I was going to flush mount 2 S1s in my bumper but maybe this is a better option.

I’d want a locking pin in the hitch so that it doesn’t get ripped off.

This looks exactly what I did at first with the hitch. I just used a "Ford" hitch blank and used a Dremel to cut out the middle of it to mount Rigid S2's. Later on, I moved to a 14" light bar wired directly to the reverse light.
