Is this normal?

Also anyone know what the rear axle in-play tolerance specs are?

I have not played with my truck so I have no direct advice. It does sound like a rear end sounds like when adjusting the shims when there is no gear oil. I would not say normal.

Emailed the video to the dealership. Said bring it in and they think they either need to replace the axles, bearings or rear end. Nice....

Rick, whatever came out of this? I think I might be having similar issues.

Dealership replaced the axle bearing and noise no more. That was not normal. Will have to look up the work order and see what part it was and can post back.

it sounded like the axle bearing right on the edge of the axle housing to me.

i havent gotten into the internals of these axles yet but the bearing/cup/seal wouldnt cost more than 60-80$?
