Looks like I might lose some of my functions as well with the Alpine.

Sync, backup camera, hands free mic,

I hate to keep going back to Kenwood but the Maestro by iDatalink is designed specifically for Ford Sync. The kit is $150.

Again...for Pionner and I believe Alpine as well, the below will retain SYNC & Steriring wheel controls.

From my understanding Fords's Bluetooth sucks compared to Pioneers or Alpines Bluetooth system. However I do not believe their is a way to retain the OEM hands free mic...so they need to install the After market mic that comes with the new NAV..

PAC MS-FRD1 Pac-audio.com Page Not Found | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future for the SYNC retention. $250

and

2. PAC SWI-PS for Pioneer/Sony radios. You would need PAC SWI-RC for your Kenwood Pac-audio.com Page Not Found | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future for Steering Wheel Control Interface. $85

Also, I'm sure you have, but just in case you have not.. below is a youtbe link that has videos from Pioneer describing features in depth.

Edit: I am not aware of anyone having issues connecting their OEM Back up camera to the Pioneer(Alpine should do the same...cant confirm since it is still s new). People have kept the back up image on the Mirror and also have the image on the NAV screen as well as adding a front camera...

here, on frf
the backup camera is much easier to interface than the front. it CAN be done. the front cam, not so easy, as i am still looking into it. also you should be able to use the oem mic if you cut the wires at the mic, before it goes into the system.

side note...... i just finished installing a alpine 920hd (the 7in double din sized) its exactly the same is the 8in....... i still think there might be some bugs that need to be worked out..... so once again i think the pioneer would be better

ok this is what i got to date.
Alpine INE-Z928HD The place said that they had one just installed it into a Raptor, they said the Sync did not work or user didn't care. They said to shop around for a install kit as the Alpine perfect fit was too much money.
Also got the the PAC unit for the Sync system and the unit that bypasses so you can operate the nav while driving, I think it is the same as the TR7.They went and picked the unit up and had it to me the next day, great service.
When I asked other places for availability of the Alpine they all suggested the Kenwood unit also.
Got an install kit bezel and mounting bracket, only problem had to get black and was cheap so I can experiment with that to see how it fits, not sure I can get the correct silver one to match my dash.
The only thing I am not sure about is do I need something for the steering wheel controls. I don't think so at the moment.
The install is another thing going to attempt next week looks like it's going to be fun and not in a good way..
