Just remember that while it is simple and inexpensive, adjusting to the mid-perch of the shock gets about a 1.5" lift on the Raptor, but you will end up with a stiffer ride overall, because you are compressing the spring and increasing the spring rate. By installing the ReadyLIFT 2" leveling kit or the T6 Billet kit you can receive a 2" lift in the front while maintaining factory ride as the extension goes above the strut. You could achieve a better ride, and lift with the leveling kit rather than making the mid-perch alone. Also, you would definitely want to stay away from trying to combine these two modifications as it would bind up your cv's. More info at: www.readylift.com
Adding a spacer to the top of the shock assembly will result in excessive down travel of the front suspension.
Excessive down travel adversely effects: upper control arm, spring, Spindle, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer drive shaft universal joints.
Setting the OEM shocks to mid-perch has No effect on spring rate; it is the change in neutral position for the shocks piston that effects the ride quality; and in my opinion for the better.

The leveling kits are more for street queens.
If you fully droop the suspension often, as you do when high speed offroading, that spacer allows your suspension to droop into a bind at the uca/spindle joint. The coil of the spring will also hit the uca, and the cv's are at a critical angle. You will chew things up.
If you do the leveling kit, you will need to add straps to the lower control arms to limit droop. But then you lose overall travel.
Have a look at the Progressive springs, this is a much more intelligent solution to maintaining stock ride characteristics and getting a little lift in the front end.
