If you're going to be doing alot of offroad, by all means this probably isn't the way to go. LineX for sure would hold up better.

Time will tell on the tips!

How's the texture? Something you think would hold up on the flares?

Texture is about like 120 grit sand paper. I was worried it'd be not enough, but I like it.

It'd definitely look bad ass on the flares, but not sure how well it'd hold up when beating on the truck. My main concern would be fading in the sun. That being said, anyone ever LineX their flares??

Have seen flares Linex'd matte black and I think they look sweet. Got a quote on doing this about a year back and thought it was reasonable although now I don't remember how much $. **Decided not to go this route but as you know, sure it can't be beat for durability.

**Just found some notes. Premium Linex (UV resistant) was quoted to me at about $100.00 per flare with them taken off and brought in. Standard Linex per flare was around $80.00 each.

Nothing really special here... But I removed my stock exhaust tips along with the skid plate to coat with rattle can Rust-Oleum bed liner. I initially was going to just drop them off to get powdercoated satin black, but didn't feel like waiting a week to get them back on so I wanted to try an alternate route and see how it goes.

Was pretty easy to do, just remove the exhaust tips with a 15mm deep socket and remove the 6 bolts on the skid plate and dropped it.

Once removed I degreased it and then washed it with soap and water. After that I sanded both with 400 grit sand paper to rough it up, wet sanding. The exhaust tips on the truck had probably never been cleaned, to get crap off I HAD to use sand paper!

Once completely dry, it took about 1.5 cans of the Rust-Oleum bed liner to get them done. I have about 4 coats on both. The final coat I held the rattle can about 2ft away to make sure to get a good texture on them. Let them dry for a few hours so I could handle them and re-installed. I haven't put the oil filter access panel back on, I'll wait 24hrs to do that since both pieces mate up.

Not sure exactly how well the bed liner will hold up with the exhaust tip, but like I said if worse comes to worse I'll just get it powdercoated. Considering bed liner holds up to heat during the summer, I think it'll be okay though..

Sorry but all these pictures was taken with my S3, I'll get some DSLR pictures tomorrow when it's bright out. I also cleaned the rear fender wells thoroughly today too, will coat with them Dupli-Color undercoating to hide the white!

What do you think?? I'm glad no more silver or chrome on the Raptor now!

What's the random Phillips head on the skid plate for?
