Going to work on Friday morning, Bambi decides to cross the road, I didn't even get the chance to hit the brakes, Airbag deploys, truck calls 911 automatically, now I have an ecoboost F150 rental.
I swear the brakes onthe truck were applied by the ECM when the airbag deployed as I don't remember hitting them that quickly.
The damage to the truck is extensive and includes Rad, Tranny cooler and what ever else lies behind the grille. I just hope my body shop can get the parts before my insurance rental runs out in 45 days!

No offense bro, but it looks like you both lost.

To go one step further...Bambi's misery is over...Yours is just starting.

Good luck with the repairs/insurance.

Estimate for repair

Please keep us updated on the cost. I am going to guess that it will be in 6-9K range. Not sure how many airbags deployed but they will be expensive to replace.

I'm thinking around 10k, I'm sure the drivers airbag alone is between 1.5 and 2k. The rad, oil coolers, bumper etc have to be another4k at least and we haven't talked about labour yet, I had noticed that the hood lines and fenders were out but I think when the hood is opened it will straighten itself out...hope so!

I just don't understand why we can't hunt more than a few weeks every year. The deer population is simply out of control. They should extend the hunting seasons and let everyone take multiple tags/deer. Great meat and in certain parts, mostly urban, the deer are half starved. Hunt, hunt, hunt.

so why is it that if you have an explosion of deer population, you still cant hunt them more? is it because of bambi? are they too cute when they are born and everyone just wants to look at deer babies all the time?

now why is it that when we have an explosion of pigs, its open season all year? is it because pigs are messy dirty animals? maybe because they are stupid animals? everyone hears a pig and automatically assumes the worst.

hell, i cant remember the last time i heard a pig being hit by a car because it ran out in front of it. who is the dumb animal now? i say open hunting for all..... especially those damn pigeons......

Ferrel hogs are very destructive, and do not help any game animal. They can put a hurtin' on your turkey population, among other desirable wildlife. It helps your wildlife to declare war on wild pigs.

Here our deer season and limits are reasonable. I think our Fish & Wildlife Dept does a pretty good job. In overpopulated places, you can take a whole lot of does - more than any family can reasonably eat in a year. In places where the population isnt very high, there are limited chances for does, so they can build up their numbers better.

Even in places where deer are scarce, there is still going to be a few get hit by cars. Especially young ones.

If you want to be able to hunt more, buy a bow and get proficient with it. Here you can hunt deer 1/3 of the year with a bow.

Same here, bow hunting is so fun too. Can't wait for season to open.

When I busted my bumper earlier this year insurance quoted me $950 for the bumper + an additional $200 for labor. This did not include skid plate or plastic trim piece above the bumper and below the grill. Sorry about the accident, but make it work for you.

Looks like the lines between the hood and fenders are off. That could be a bigger deal than anticipated.

$950? Wow, mine was 3200 and that was only the right side bumperette replacement. Gotta love auto places that specialize in insurance work.

Sorry to hear about your luck Tango - I'm in deer country too and have just been lucky so far.
