Not surprised TBH. And the kid wasn’t driving that Raptor the way it can be driven- actually both of em weren’t putting the trucks in the absolute best setup to attack that stuff

Take the TC AND the stability control off
4H only
Baja, deep snow, or sport setting depending on exact situation
Diff locked

That’s what I’d be doing all the time, these guys kept dinking around w/ the settings (I guess that’s part of the vid) & sometimes p*$$y footing around out there lol

Solid comparison vid nonetheless - & as I’ve gone on record multiple times on this forum saying, you guys would be MINDBLOWN how much easier ALL of that terrain would be running a set of Studded Nokian Hallapelitta’s like I have on my Rappy- whole course would be a laughable cake walk

So they didn’t both have the same tires? Tire on the TRX are not even snow rated. Lol. Obviously not a true comparison and having just moved out of the Midwest I can now say F snow and driving in it.

Throw some dedicated snows or at least the same tire in the same size to compare.

That's for sure. Literally like magic. I'm really glad I live in a place where they're unnecessary. :p

I think comparing em w/ the equipment they came from the factory w/ is the correct way actually. Most people won’t add snow tires like I do, but those who do already know they make ANY 4wd vehicle Uber capable- the Raptor just happens to be that much better.

Raptor has “better” bigger tires, TRX has “better” bigger more powerful engine….wash

I don’t think the TRX 4wd/awd/t-case/diffs etc are as stout/sophisticated/well tuned as the Raptor, period.

Correct way would be to educate buyers on the proper tires to use in these conditions. Might as well peg Camaro vs Mustang on a snowy track to see which gets down the fastest.
Because more buyers are going to do it wrong doesn’t mean the Raptor is superior.

Having 702hp aint gonna necessarily make for any better of a deep snow offroader either, in fact it probbaly makes it worse being that overpowered regardless of tires - although the heavier weight should benefit the TRX

Dude, I think you way WAY off, & I can attest to this b/c I've been a proponent of snow tires on trucks for a couple decades now, & have definitely chimed in numerous times on this forum about it, & guess what? I can think of 1 or maybe 2 other members who stated they were running similar snow tire setup, 99% of forum members on this site - including the ones spending $20k in any & all mods you can think of - still do not or will not understand the benefit/"need" for true snow tires in winter weather. They will argue that their "tough looking" MT's poking out the sides are better. I know its crazy & doesn't make any sense, but that's just the situation

Then you could talk about adding chains to either truck on stock tires...that would be an equalizer, no? FWIW - I don't give a flying F about the cute snowflake symbol on the factory KO2's, BELIEVE ME they are NOT SNOW TIRES lol - I actually think wrangler duratracs are better in winter conditions (I know the TRX has something different just mentioning the duratrac b/c I have experience w/ em)

The only people I see running proper snow tires on trucks & AWD vehicles rather than just assuming "have 4wd/awd don't need snow tires all seasons good enough" are OG people from VT & ME & NH & western MA (in my neck of the woods anyhow) - otherwise its just me pulling 3-5 idiots out of ditch EVERY snow storm lol

Sorry I didn’t read the whole thing. Short attention span. I’ve been running winters on our cars since 07 and lived in Chicago up until a few months ago. Never would I run a summer or non-snow rated tire in the snow. You should really give the 99% a chance because we’re not as dumb as you think.
The video is made solely for clicks. That’s the only fact about it. It in no way proves the Raptor is better then the TRX on any condition.

Nothing more to be said.

I'm a pretty damn good driver, but I am 0 for 4 when driving in snow. I'm horrible at it. I live in AZ so don't have to worry about it to much.
