Judging from the growing piles of dirt infront of the tires, it looks like it took a few pulls to get it out.

First of all a correction: the elevation was only 4700’
Second to Busa: everyone was ok, just cold and appreciative for some hot coffee.
What happened:
The couple was on a slow midnight run to consume beer and whatever …
He misjudged a switchback, run off the outer edge and luckily got hung up.
The couple spend the night in the truck with only one small blanked and a dog to keep them warm (temperatures get close to freezing at this elevation)

As to the hook-Up: I’m old, not stupid!

After we got them out we followed the trail the guy was trying to get on and found that a few miles on a landslide had taken out the trail for about 100’ with a sheer drop-off about 30’ down; hitting that at night without warning would have been really bad (not even a Raptor could have made it)
As we looked the situation over the forest service showed up to place barriers and warning signs.
P.S. The Mohawk belongs to my Niece from Germany and the color is blaze orange, recommended for deer hunting.
And a black Raptor up here under these conditions would have been just as gray as mine:laughing1:

You started it, you better run. I imagine he is a big burly dude weathered from the sea, with a beard and a cigar, and is gonna tell you something you dirty wog....

Actually I would address him as a ‘Slimy Pollywog’!

We just said dirty wogs, I think slimy pollywog was too "offensive " for today's navy.... Well 8 years ago navy, shit they probably don't even do it anymore.

I guess I’m an Old Salt from an old time Navy…
The politically incorrect Navy without any females on board a Man of War!
And the Slim could only be removed at the proper location in the old time way in Neptune’s presents with Shillelaghs wielded by trusty Shellbacks.
