Raptor 'Rally' Utah Worth it? or is it just a 'personal' version of the Assault, using our trucks..? which still may be worth it..

I live an hour from Raptor Assault. I have no desire to go. I’d rather spend the money in fuel.

and besides.. when you do that assault, it's no cost--unless you bring a passenger, which, ironically is 1k+


I guess I need to get to the dirt more often.. I live in valley in so cal, and so far, most of the 'clubs' are in areas that are quite far from me.. AZRR, TTR, even the EXO crew is mostly in Nor cal.. love the baja trips they do, but can only do that once a year at this point.. (thanks gov scum, and brandon for the lovely inflation )


was all excited to see Ford doing something like this, but, it's most likely the same org. that does the assault..

When I originally heard about the event, prior to the details coming out, I was excited about it. I just did Assault a few weeks ago and had a great time, but I was already in Moab, so not a far extra drive. Now with the details on the cost, plus travel time to and from So Cal, I dont see the value for myself.

Maybe if it was a more dedicated training type event with lots of 1-1 coaching (they do have some pretty solid drivers running Assault) then I would be all over it.

I am sure the event is going to be fun - just not $1000 worth for me.

Check out So Cal Raptor Runs, they are with the Nor Cal group too, but they have a Pismo run coming up next month - only $250.

I signed up, but it is going to be my first one with them so I can’t comment on the experience yet, but Pismo is close and at only $250 it is minimal commitment. They have several other single day, weekend and longer runs throughout the year too.

Yes.. I was checking them out just recently.. and yes Pismo is awesome, as long as they keep it open (been threatening to close it for more than a decade already, they've blocked off a significant amount of the ridable areas in that time.)
I go there twice a year and stay in avila beach..

i did consider going up, but it is a holiday they're doing it on so space it real tight there during the 4th..

I need some peeps to go to 'local' desert runs once in a while... want to hit some dunes besides on the beach..

Raptor Assault was a blast and I learned a lot. Because I purchased a new 2024 802a I will probably be attending RA for a second time and trying to do 1k damage to their truck rather than using mine. Maybe next year.
