Probably not! Will probably be way out of most peoples wallet. Probably top at 150k Canadian easy. Will wait til the numbers come out. If its a scab and a hybrid v8 it might lure me in a bit.

If the R comes in SCAB config with 37 package, will buy.

Personally don’t like the look of a Crew Cab and don’t need the extra space.

There are no such reliability issues. Any report mentioning this are untrue.

I hope you are right, but it's weird these reliability issues are coming out on the v8, plus we heard the video of a sick v8 heading back to the ford garage. It's gonna be panful getting a TRX fighter from Ford. They really did not do well planning for this even though they knew all about it for a few years now.

MotorTrend mentioned it was a “rumor”, nothing more. There are no confirmed “reliability issues”. It’s not at all uncommon for test mules to experience various issues; that’s the entire reason they exist.

Had a friend offer me his TRX for my Gen 2 + $10K, turned it down, don't need or want 700hp to drive me around town or on the highway, and love the range of the 3.5 for hunting or general offroad enjoyment. Would love the 37's, but that too kills some of the practical function of my gen 2. So I think I'll tough it out in the gen 2 and behave similar to the gen 1 v gen 2 guys

Any particular reason he wanted to opt for a Gen 2 over the TRX? (yes, I know we all know but still)

Says it's a hog, and tire shredder, but not for him. Just not thrilled with it, I didn't press him for more.

The question remains as to Ford’s actual intentions in building the Raptor R. Will it be to:

  • a) Simply hold onto bragging rights that they have the most powerful, capable, etc. “production” pickup at the sacrifice of a $150k (Canadian) price tag and super exclusivity (think homologation “production” release requirements in the motorcycle racing world);
  • b) Actually take on all facets of the Ram TRX inclusive of price point and offer the truck at a comparative price (in Canada $120 to 130k).
Somehow I fear it won’t be the latter.
