Lol well my dad wasn’t much more help in life. Despite being an Uber successful attorney, when I was 18 he basically said “you are on your own“ and never gave me another cent. Had to pay for my own education and work my way up. I cant bring myself to do the same to my kids and have set up college funds and some in trust as well. I suspect its a lot harder to make in on your own these days unless you want to become a tik tok star which I really don’t want my kids to aspire to….

I was in the ‘slow’ class until grade 12, I can print but I never learned to write
I’ve struggled with moderate mental illness my entire life.

I’m rich as **** because I followed those rules. I was never a victim nor envious of other’s successes. Add some luck, too, of course.

And marry once, wisely or not at all. I was lucky enough to marry a dairy farm girl 40 years ago who still smiles when I walk in, laughs at all my stupid jokes and pretends to want to get busy 3 or 4 times a week. We spend much of our time in the kitchen working on crazy creations.
