I had a 14,17 and a 22 37. Loved my 37 and the eco motor was fine. I wasn’t off roading and not drag racing anyone in a giant truck. It’s a daily driver and I bought it for the looks and the performance. I also need the comfort of the big crew cab. That said, the new 2024 R is the same body and has the 37 performance setup. Wasn’t sure I wanted to spend an extra 30-60k for a motor. Then I drove one….. Being a “car guy” there’s no replacement for a killer sounding high horse V8. I negotiated a deal “down” to 10k markup. My decision was tied to a year end financial benefit as this truck qualifies for section 179 bonus depreciation. Of course most of this is emotional. Shelter Green with those orange graphics. I now wanted it. So yes, best one I have owned and I’ve owned them all. No regrets.

Thank you for the Section 179 bonus depreciation reference. I have been wondering about this.

@Hydrocoded Same situation as you, had a 2014 which I enjoyed very much and currently have a 2020 and it is not the same. Never really enjoyed it as much. My GEN1 was fun to daily drive and absolutely better when off-roading. I bit the bullet and ordered a 25' Raptor R. Getting it for MSRP helped me make the jump. Told my wife that I ordered a new truck but not telling her what it cost, I don't need the drama when I already made the decision.
Any chance you will share where you are getting your R for MSRP?

Assuming you are a repeat longtime customer at this dealership?

The dealership took my order but lied to me as they had no allocation. I gave up looking for a MSRP deal and bought an R and found one for $11k over.

Thanks for your response. I have one on order for roughly a month now for 10K over.

I am steadily looking for a better deal but I believe I have accepted my fate.
